The Pigtronix EP2 was designed from the ground up in collaboration with legendary effects guru, Howard Davis to create the most musically intense and versatile phaser on the planet. The EP2 Envelope Phaser features extensive modulation controls, 20Hz - 20kHz frequency response, and dual mode versatility that is heretofore unmatched in the effects pedal industry. The EP2 provides rotary modulation via LFO as well as envelope controlled phase shifting and the ability to combine both modulation sources at the same time. The EP2's Sensitivity knob controls the amount of signal needed to open the envelope follower while the up / down switch determines which direction the phaser moves. The EF section also features a "Staccato" switch that enables this pedal to track super fast playing techniques, opening and closing on every note. On the rotary side, the Depth knob controls the amount of LFO modulation and the Center knob adjusts where in the audio spectrum the LFO is sweeping. The usual Speed and Depth controls are present as well as a Resonance control that adjusts the amount of the effected signal that is fed back into the phaser creating deep, swooshing effects. An LFO Smooth switch automatically cuts the Resonance in rotary mode for instant uni-vibe tones. The Pigtronix EP2 Envelope Phaser features a Blend switch that mixes both LFO and EF modulation together to create unique textures and complex motion. The LFO phase is fat and full with hi-fi sweeps and smooth LFO modulation. The EF is ultra fast and funky with superior tracking and selectable response time. Since you are using the EF to sweep a Phaser, rather than an HP Filter or LP Filter, the resulting tone is fat and full sounding, without the loss of bandwidth associated with standard envelope filters. Both effects on the Pigtronix EP2 Envelope Phaser can be blended together for funky phase and vocal formant auto wah tones.
