Every model included in the Vintage Joe Doe collection comes with an epic tale of its very own. The JDV005 Punkaster is the brutal mash-up of an ST-style and T-style guitar and comes with its own sense of humour and a hard case. Mount it over the fireplace and you have a work of art and a talking point for your next dinner party. Hang it around your neck and you have a hunk of fierce music-based inspiration. Only 100 of each of the Joe Doe Series models will ever be made and, besides the case, they come with a bunch of stickers and a certificate of authenticity.
The Joe Doe Punkaster from Brandon Hicks
The Punkaster tells the legend of Brandon Hicks, whose fierce talent was said to be born in chaos. His outrageous and reckless stage stunts have managed to break every bone in Hicks' body and firm up his formidable reputation. Back in 1977, his birthplace in Bone Lake, Wisconsin was already too small for the teenage Hicks, so he drifted across the length and breadth of America before finally coming to rest in New York, where he and his infamous punk band, FistMeetsFace, put their guitars through as much abuse as they could stand before doing it all over again the night after. The phone numbers and messages scrawled across the back of the neck are a great little reminder of those brilliantly unhinged times. At least, that's the story that Joe Doe Guitars is sticking to.
