Der U-Bass der Kala Brand Music Company ist ein Ukulelenbass. Das
Instrument hat eine Gesamtlänge von 750 mm (29,5 Zoll). Die Saiten
schwingen über eine Mensur von 515 mm, also 20 Zoll. Die Sattelbreite
beträgt 44 mm. Gestimmt wird der UBass wie ein E-Bass in Quarten:

Kala U-BASS is truly a ground breaking short scale (21") bass that
produces the same pitches as a standard bass instrument and is tuned in
traditional bass tuning, E-A-D-G. The U-BASS is strung with proprietary
polyurethane strings that incorporate a great bass feel, with balanced
tension; they are a true pleasure to play.
